Should You Change Your Crosshair In Valorant?
Valorant first saw its release on PCs, and it took many years before it would see a console release. While PC players can choose whether they use a controller or a mouse and keyboard, console players are only able to make use of the former option — which means they are going to want to make use of the best settings to be on equal footing with PC gamers.

While in the main menu, PS5 players who are new to the scene will press their option button, while Xbox owners will press the Menu button. Here they will be able to select Settings to tweak their controller settings.

Best Controller Settings For Valorant
After entering settings, players will want to press R1 or the Right Bumper button to change from the General Tab to the Controls Tab. What will have a lot of impact on players' performance is their Aim, Movement, and Advanced settings.
Aim
Firstly, players will want to turn on their Advanced Sensitivity settings. Now they will be able to change the sensitivity of both their hip fire, aim-down-sight, and their Focus. ADS and Focus are different methods of controlling sensitivity, with ADS more focused on ranged shots while holding down the button.

Players should set their base aiming high enough that they can swivel and turn fast without overshooting. A value of 14 is perfect for their Base Horizontal Sensitivity, along with Base Vertical Sensitivity of 12, and a Base Aim Curve of 6/9. Their Focus on the other hand is how they will slow things down for a well-placed shot. A value of 11 for their Focus Horizontal Sensitivity will help players see the moment their crosshair is right where they need it.
Next is the player’s Inner and Outer Deadzones, which will affect how accurate you can be while moving, as opposed to when you are standing still. The Outer Deadzone should be set to 1, with the Inner Deadzone set to 0.10 to start. Players can finesse this Inner Deadzone if they feel they are slightly overshooting to find their personal sweet spot.

Movement
Crouch Behavior lets players choose between toggling their crouch or holding down for it. Players that have their preferred button layout using a face button to crouch will want it set to toggle, as it will be cumbersome to hold these buttons down while keeping your thumb free for your right analog stick. Players who map their crouch to a trigger or bumper button will be able to hold their crouch button for intuitive and perfectly timed switches between stances.
Players that want a sneaky advantage in standoffs will want to have their Default Movement Mode set to run, and then map their move button to one of these buttons instead. This will allow them to much more accurately control their move speed and cause their opponents to overshoot their aiming when they expect the player to run to the side. Having a walk button mapped to lightly pressing the analog stick is much harder to pull off.

Players wishing to use this approach will want to set Walk/Run Threshold to its minimum and Movement Deadzone to its maximum. For players that really want all 4 of these buttons to be free for other options, but still have this trick up their sleeve, they can have it so that they need to hold their thumbstick all the way to run, and the slightest bit of leeway from relaxing their grip causes them to walk.
Advanced
Weapon Behaviors are purely to preference with no impact. Players will want Hold for their Plant/Defuse Behavior so that if they need to change their plans, they just need to release the button. Walk While in Focus is helpful for players who are not using a dedicated walk button. However, this will tie the two actions together, which can be costly against highly skilled opponents. Players will want this turned off and become used to the two being separate elements so that they can become much more competent players in higher tiers of play.
Players should also check the various General tab settings for elements such as Minimap. Changing these settings will be a personal preference, but can have a big impact on players who use the ones that work best for them. Some players will find it much easier to have the minimap turn so they know where they are running towards when they move forward, others may prefer a smaller minimap that stays stationary. The same can be said for having the enemies highlighted by the color that is most easy for a player to notice. Also, be sure you can clearly hear everything going on so enemies don’t get the jump on you.

At the Controls tab, players will see Buttons above the Aim category. Players will also be able to change their Profile and their Presets using the prompted buttons to find a layout that works best for them. This is all up to personal preference, and all players are on equal footing. It just comes down to what the player is comfortable doing with their hands and fingers.

Should You Change Your Crosshair In Valorant?

A crosshair might not seem like a big deal to some players, but to others, it is just one of the many individual elements that all come together to take one's game to the next level. The Crosshair tab is to the right of the Controls tab and lets players tweak its look depending on whether they are using their base aim, Focus, ADS, and looking through a sniper scope.
There are 2 options for the best functional crosshair designs, which are the “+” and the “o” design. Having a crosshair that is too thick can cause inaccuracy. However, different designs each have their pros and cons. Players that favor longer range will want to go with a small “+” and fit it within the object they wish to deal damage to, while an “o” design is better for close to mid-range weapons that want to get their target to show within the circle. This means players should pick the design that best suits the weapons they plan to use.
